The lumiglow stopped working, does that mean that the battery is low or is the watch defective?

Well if its like other Timex lumiglo watches I have had, the watch has two batteries, one for the light & one for the mechanics of the watch.

can the slip thru strap be replaced with a regular 2 piece strap replacement?

The watch's band can only be replace by a easy slip band. This can't be replaced with a band with a pin.

How many inches long is the watch band?

Hi there! Thank you for your message. This a men's watch style and it has a wrist size that will fit between 5.9 - 8.1 inches. For further enquiries you may call our customer service team at 800-448-4639 or send us an email at custserv@timex.com.

What is the purpose of the extra attached strap?

To keep the watch from sliding along the strap. Look closely at the metal loop.
