I love this powder. A little goes a long way. I add it to soup for yummy mushroom flavor when mushrooms aren't on sale locally. Tastes great!

This powder was a game changer in my mushroom risotto. I wasn’t quite sure how much to use, so start small, you can always increase. I’m already thinking all the recipes this powder will enhance. I’m not a fan of the packaging, a bit hard to open and access, but I’m guessing it’s designed to keep the flavors fresher longer? I recommend trying this.

Well, the first time I used this in a recipe, 20 minutes after I ate I was vomiting violently and couldn’t stop. After an hour and a half of almost constant vomiting I called emergency services and was transported to the ER still vomiting. My kidney function took a slight hit but the ER doctor couldn’t find a reason for the vomiting. I was treated with antiemetics by IV and given a liter of fluids then sent home. I was told this wasn’t food poisoning from bacteria because there was no fever and my reaction was too rapid. I can only surmise it was this mushroom powder. I’ve eaten fresh and dried porcini mushrooms before as well as crimini, portobello, morel, shitake and oyster mushrooms many times and never had any issues. But this is the second time I’ve gotten sick this way after consuming a mushroom product from china. The last time was a container of a variety of dried mushrooms from China bought at costco. I am left to wonder if there are poisonous mushrooms being used by mistake in these preparations. In 10 years these two times are the ONLY events of rapid onset of severe nausea and vomiting i’ve had. Needless to say the hospital threw the rest of the bag away for me.

I love this powder. Excellent quality. I sprinkle this on my salads and even add it to my coffee.
