An Unrated, Uncensored, Unadulterated Love Story
I was apprehensive that the Blu-Ray would suffer the same fate, that most A rated flicks do in India. To my amusement & surprise, this Blu-Ray is just like its american counterpart, despite having the stamp from the Indian Censor Boards. Other than having all the extras as advertised, the main movie is uncensored and contains everything the makers wanted you to see. A must pick for anyone who was disappointed to watch the heavily censored version in Indian cinemas last year.

Must Buy Blu-Ray. This is how a blu-ray edition should be with all the extras
The best comic book movie of the year. In fact the best action/comedy of the year. The disc contains extended cut, all extras & of course the uncensored version. Must buy

Stop misleading! The bluray is uncut and includes all the extras.
People who have written reviews here without even buying the bluray, please stop misleading. The bluray has not been censored. It's the uncut version and includes all the extras as well. Whereas the dvd will be heavily censored. The reason being, the bluray discs have been imported from Germany and the DVD's are manufactured in India by Moser Baer. Go ahead and buy the bluray disc :)

Awesome
Deadpool is a movie that you will know where you stand about it within the first few minutes. It is a superhero movie that breaks all the superhero movie norms in that it is R-rated, is over-the-top violent, has sex in it, and the main character breaks the fourth wall constantly (because he knows that he is a comic book character). Backed by Ryan Reynolds' wit and smart Alek comments all the way through the movie (including making snarky comments about himself), the movie tells the origin story of Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, a mercenary who's part of the X-Men universe (although it is not exactly clear which timeline he is in, which is a joke in the movie). Wilson is seeking revenge on a guy named Francis who essentially turned him into what he is. He is joined by X-Men Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic), and sullen teen girl Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), who are trying to recruit Deadpool to join the X-Men. Francis is joined by Angel Dust (played by Gina Carano) who is a super-strong evil mutant. There are essentially two storylines that run in parallel with each other during the movie. The first is Wade's origin story includes his sex-worker girlfriend Vanessa (played by Firefly and Gotham alum Morena Baccarin), and TJ Miller, as Deadpool's buddy Weasel. Miller steals many a scene he is in, which is no small feat with Deadpool throwing out zingers every couple of seconds. The second is the revenge story, which is where all of the action in the movie takes place. Of course, the storylines do intersect at the end. For those who get the blu-ray, the movie looks and sounds wonderful in HD. The extras include two separate commentary tracks, deleted scenes, a gag reel, an image gallery, videos that were a part of the movie's promotional campaign, and the most extensive extra, an hour and twenty-minute long making-of documentary (that is split into five parts). Overall, the movie is awesome. The jokes are great, and make fun of everything from Reynold's acting ability vs. his looks, the horrible incarnation of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (also played by Reynolds), as well as the Green Lantern movie (also starring Reynolds). It seems that everyone in the cast was having a blast and not taking themselves too seriously. It is most definitely not a family-friendly movie as there is a lot of swearing and sexual jokes. The action is great, especially the battle at the end, and the movie has no problem lampooning the superhero genre. It is definitely worth checking out.

Perfecta

memorable characters and a fun Stan Lee cameo
The Plot: In a desperate moment while dying of stage four cancer, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) agrees to accept a “cure” for his cancer from British scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein). This therapy triggers his latent mutant cells to give him incredible healing powers, but those powers come at a cost. Renaming himself Deadpool, Wilson sets out to find Ajax and a cure for his malformation – and there’s nothing that can stand in his way. Kent’s Take: For those not feint of heart, of weak stomach or of strong moral sensibilities, “Deadpool” is a “dead-spin” of the Marvel feature film formula. Touting the usual quality production, skilled acting, memorable characters and a fun Stan Lee cameo, this may sound like a very traditional Marvel film – it’s not. Spinning the time-honored Marvel structure into a dark shadowy tornado of ultra-violence, gore, strong language, sexual themes, nudity and more violence and gore (I had to list it twice) pries this narrative out of its mold. Yet, this is also one of the funniest films I’ve seen in a while. Laughs come in the opening credits (which are a treat in themselves) and continue non-stop throughout – ridiculing themselves, the X-Men and everyone else they set in their sights – attesting to some great writing. Wise-cracking Deadpool converts killing into an art, a story and a hoot – deadpanning memorable lines as he makes the bad guys pay dearly. He is both lovable and chilling, hilarious and deadly, amoral and angry. Director Tim Miller almost finds the perfect explosion of violence and laughs while dodging in and out of the Avengers and X-Men universe. With an R rating, this film requires a mature audience. In a society struggling with gun violence and homegrown terrorism, it was a good decision to make this an R rated film. A PG-13 rated version would have relegated Deadpool to a shadow of his true persona, while the R rating will keep youngsters out of a film that is inappropriate for them. Parents, let’s do our jobs and make sure our children see appropriate films for their age. “Deadpool” is a love and origin story like you have never seen before. While “Guardians of the Galaxy” shunned the Marvel family-cetric blueprint for an edgier story, “Deadpool” burns it with attitude to open up some very interesting options for a future drenched in sex, blood and possibilities.

One of the Best Marvel Films to Date. Over-The-Violence, Adult Language and Situations Make for an Adult-Oriented Film.
Deadpool has been a Marvel comic-book fan favorite for over twenty years and after more than ten years of on-again, off-again development, this film is one of the top-grossing in the Marvel X-Men universe. Because it is part of the X-Men universe films, it is decidedly not part of the MCU which means there are no references and appearances of characters from the massive "Avengers" storyline of the MCU. But that does not take anything away from this film whatsoever. Ryan Reynolds had been pushing to have this film produced ever since he briefly appeared as an alternate version of Wade Wilson in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." In that film, Wade Wilson is genetically altered to become Deadpool/Weapon XI, but a radically different version of the character featured in the comics and in this Deadpool film. Even though this is the origin story of a Marvel comic book character, it is decidedly NOT a family film as it contains scenes of gratuitous violence and gore along with an abundance of adult language and situations. This movie features much more humor than other Marvel productions, to the point that there is a joke in nearly every line of the script. The visual effects are all high-quality and over the top at certain points. The story is presented as flashback sequences for most of the film and is narrated by Deadpool himself. This version of the film includes the 4K UHD disc, BD and UV digital copy. (Note that the UV digital copy is not in 4K UHD but in 1080p HD.) Deadpool is glorious in the 4K format and once you've seen a few films in 4K, HD will seem dated by comparison. The packaging is standard fare for any 4K BD and includes no bonus items like booklets or collectibles inside. If you're a Deadpool or Marvel fan or enjoy superhero films with tons of action and violence with plenty of humor added to the mix, I highly recommend this film.

MOVIE: 5.0 • VIDEO: 4.7 • AUDIO: 4.5
FORMAT: Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD UPC: 0-24543-10434-6 RELEASED: 2016-05-10 TITLE: Deadpool (2016) • R • 1:48:06 Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano Tim Miller (Director) This movie isn't for everyone. If you are one of those people who can NOT, in any way, abide so-called "bad" language and/or violence; nor can you tolerate ANY sexual references WHATSOEVER, then steer well clear of this movie! If, on the other hand, you aren't quite such a tighta$$, then you will probably find this movie to be VERY enjoyable (and, VERY funny) — with its sly, sadistic, send-up of pop culture in general (and comic book movies in particular). This one is definitely NOT for the kiddies, folks! Let's hope they DON'T screw up the sequel! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. See the other reviews on this page for more detail and/or other opinions regarding the plot of the movie. VIDEO: 2.39:1 • Color • 1080p • MPEG-4 AVC (31.2 Mbps) This movie's image features dazzling colors (as befits a comic book movie), sharply detailed objects, and very good apparent depth. It also has very good, to frequently excellent, contrast and has very good shadow detail (as seen in the many dark and shadowy areas, such as the bar scenes, the scenes in Wade's apartment, and the scenes located in Ajax's lab). Also, there are no obvious artifacts such as banding, specks, white dots, hair-lines or color fluctuations (probably because of the extensive use of CGI [which is an observation, and NOT a complaint]). Overall, this movie's presentation on blu-ray has very good, to frequently excellent, picture quality — and, should satisfy all but the very pickiest of viewers. AUDIO: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 (48 KHz, 24-bit) While the sound quality of the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack for this disc is very good — it is NOT among the best examples of the art. Although dialog is clear and well placed, and the rear and side channels are somewhat active and fairly directional — still, it never gave me that deeply moving 'you-are-there' feeling that I frequently get when listening to movies that have what I consider to be reference-quality soundtracks (e.g.— John Wick , Pacific Rim , X-men: Days Of Future Past ). Don't get me wrong: this soundtrack is very good, but it definitely could have been better! EXTRAS: Director's Commentary Commentary by Ryan Reynolds and Screenwriters Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick Deleted/Extended Scenes Several 'Making Of' type videos Gag Reel Photo Gallery None of the extras were reviewed.
