GALAXY S24 ULTRA 12/256 ARGENT

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Review: The Best-in-Class Smartphone, with Battery as the Future Upgrade Driver My smartphone journey spans decades, from the indestructible Nokia 3310 to the groundbreaking LG Optimus 3D, through experiments with flip and slide phones, and a series of Samsung flagships that solidified my loyalty to Android. After a disappointing detour with the Galaxy S21 FE, I’ve upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra—and I’m convinced it’s the absolute best-in-class phone, hands down. With its blazing-fast 12GB RAM, stunning display, and lightning-quick charging, this phone is so exceptional that it’s hard to imagine future models offering significant enough improvements to justify their price tags—except in one key area: battery life. The phone market knows battery advancements will drive future upgrades, but for now, the S24 Ultra is everything I need and more. Here’s my in-depth review, shaped by my extensive experience with phones and my belief that this device sets an almost unbeatable standard. My Smartphone Journey: From Rugged Roots to Samsung Supremacy My love for phones began with the Nokia 3310, a rugged icon I consider the spark of the smartphone revolution. Its durability and simplicity set a high bar. Years later, the LG Optimus 3D captivated me with its glasses-free 3D display and gaming, a bold innovation I was heartbroken to see abandoned by the industry. I stretched that phone’s life until around 2015, after which I tried a Sony flip phone and a slide-open phone. The Sony flip phone was a charming, compact stand-in that I genuinely liked, but its small design and moving parts felt fragile in a market shifting toward larger, more robust devices. The slide phone was similarly innovative but prone to breaking due to its mechanical components, cementing my distrust of phones with moving parts. This is why I’ll never buy a folding phone, despite claims they can withstand thousands of opens and closes—for me, full-size, non-folding phones are the gold standard for durability. After a lackluster BlackBerry stint, I dove into research in 2017 and chose the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, the best phone in its price bracket at the time. Its edge-to-edge display and robust performance made it a clear choice over iPhone, which felt restrictive with its limited app ecosystem (though that gap has since narrowed). Samsung’s superior durability, surviving drops better than iPhones, was a deciding factor. I upgraded to the S9 Plus in 2019, a fantastic device snagged for £500 as a year-old flagship. However, the Galaxy S21 FE in 2022 was a letdown—riddled with software glitches, sluggish performance, and weak battery life, I dubbed it the “Fubar Edition.” Now, with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in 2025, I’ve found a phone that combines the durability of the Nokia 3310, the innovation of the LG Optimus 3D, and the polish of Samsung’s earlier flagships, while surpassing them all in every way. First Impressions: Seamless Setup and Uncompromising BuildThe S24 Ultra impressed me from the start with its effortless setup. Samsung’s Smart Switch made transferring data from my S21 FE so simple I joked a five-year-old could do it. Within minutes, my apps, contacts, and settings were ready—a stark contrast to the clunky S21 FE setup. The phone’s design is a triumph, with its titanium frame and Gorilla Armor 2 exuding premium quality and durability. It feels like a modern-day Nokia 3310—built to withstand life’s mishaps while looking sleek and sophisticated. My experiences with the fragile Sony flip phone and slide phone only reinforce my love for full-size, non-folding designs like the S24 Ultra, which offers peace of mind without sacrificing style.Durability is a cornerstone of why I choose Samsung over iPhone. From the S8 Plus to the S24 Ultra, my research shows Samsung phones consistently outperform iPhones in drop tests, thanks to robust materials and engineering. While I always use a case (these devices are an investment!), the S24 Ultra’s construction reassures me it can handle accidents better than most, unlike the vulnerable hinges of folding phones or the less resilient iPhones. Performance: Unmatched Speed That Redefines ExpectationsThe S24 Ultra is a performance juggernaut, powered by 12GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (in my region). This phone is leaps and bounds faster than the S8 Plus, which felt lightning-fast in its day but pales in comparison. Apps launch instantly, downloads and app installations process so quickly it’s almost instantaneous, and multitasking is effortless, even with my heavy usage. Whether I’m streaming 4K content, gaming, or juggling multiple apps, the S24 Ultra handles it all with ease, leaving the sluggish S21 FE in the dust. Even the S9 Plus, a powerhouse in its time, can’t touch this level of fluidity. With today’s lightning-fast fiber broadband, the S24 Ultra’s processor stays in the sweet spot, delivering blink-and-you-miss-it performance for downloads, uploads, and app installations. I genuinely believe this phone is so fast that future models will struggle to offer noticeable improvements worth their price tags. The jump from the S8 Plus to the S24 Ultra is monumental, but going forward, the gap between the S24 Ultra and newer models will likely be much slimmer. This phone’s speed is all anyone could need for the foreseeable future, making it hard to justify paying more for marginal gains. Display: A Visual Masterpiece The 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is breathtaking. After tweaking the settings for maximum “eye candy,” I was floored by the vibrancy, clarity, and brightness. Colors pop, blacks are inky deep, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and animations silky smooth. With a peak brightness of 2600 nits, the screen shines even in direct sunlight—a massive improvement over the S21 FE, which in its self was far better than its predecessors that struggled outdoors. This display evokes the awe I felt with the LG Optimus 3D’s innovative 3D screen, though I still wish the industry had pursued that technology further. While the S24 Ultra doesn’t offer 3D, its flat AMOLED panel with reduced glare (thanks to Gorilla Armor 2) delivers a “WOW” factor that elevates every interaction, from videos to gaming to browsing. Battery Life and Charging: Solid, with Room for Future Innovation. The S24 Ultra’s 5000mAh battery, a step up from the S21 FE’s 4500mAh, handles my heavy usage well, though it’s not groundbreaking. As a power user who’s glued to the phone all day, I need to charge once daily, which is expected for a device of this calibre. However, the battery life doesn’t quite reach the “blow me away” standard of the phone’s other features. I believe the phone market knows that battery advancements—whether in capacity, efficiency, or new technologies like solid-state batteries—will be the primary reason to upgrade in the future. For now, the S24 Ultra’s battery is solid, keeping up with my demanding schedule of messaging, streaming, and browsing. What sets this phone apart is its 45W fast charging, which is so quick I can watch the battery percentage climb in real-time. A full charge takes under an hour, and I’ve set the phone to cap at 80% to preserve battery health—a feature I value given my intensive use. Unlike the S21 FE, which felt sluggish to charge, the S24 Ultra spends more time in my hand than on the charger. I avoid charging overnight (a personal quirk), and the fast charging ensures I’m never tethered to an outlet for long. While the battery life is adequate, future innovations in battery technology are the one area where I can see a compelling reason to upgrade down the line. Camera: A Versatile Powerhouse The S24 Ultra’s quad-camera system is a standout, featuring a 200MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 50MP 5x periscope telephoto. Photos are sharp, vibrant, and detailed, excelling in any lighting condition. The 100x Space Zoom is a fun (if niche) feature, and the AI-powered editing tools—like object removal and generative fill—are intuitive and impressive. Compared to the S9 Plus and S21 FE, the S24 Ultra’s cameras are a massive leap, offering unmatched versatility for everything from landscapes to portraits. Why Samsung and Android? Durability and Freedom My preference for Android over iPhone stems from its flexibility and durability. When I chose the S8 Plus in 2017, iPhone’s app ecosystem felt restrictive, though that gap has narrowed today. However, Samsung’s superior build quality remains a deciding factor. From the S8 Plus to the S24 Ultra, Samsung phones consistently outperform iPhones in drop tests, thanks to materials like titanium and Gorilla Armor. My negative experiences with the fragile Sony flip phone and slide phone solidified my distrust of devices with moving parts, which is why I avoid folding phones. The S24 Ultra’s full-size, non-folding design is exactly what I want—a durable, reliable device that can take a beating. Samsung’s commitment to longevity is another win. The S24 Ultra comes with seven years of OS and security updates, ensuring it’ll stay relevant through 2031. This durability and support echo the long-lasting Nokia 3310 and LG Optimus 3D, which I pushed to their limits. Why the S24 Ultra Is Best-in-Class I firmly believe the S24 Ultra is the absolute best phone in its class, hands down. Its performance is so exceptional—downloads and app installations are near-instantaneous, and it handles fiber broadband’s lightning speeds with ease—that it’s hard to imagine how future models could improve significantly enough to warrant their price tags, except in battery technology. While newer models will inevitably be faster, the noticeable difference will likely be minimal compared to the massive leap from the S8 Plus to the S24 Ultra. This phone is so well-optimized that it feels like the sweet spot for performance, making it all anyone could need for years to come. Paying more for a later model right now just doesn’t make sense—unless battery advancements offer a compelling upgrade path, which I believe the phone market is already focusing on. Areas for Improvement The S24 Ultra is as close to perfect as it gets, but there’s room for refinement. The battery life, while solid, isn’t exceptional, and I see advancements in battery technology as the main reason to consider upgrading in the future. I’d also love more customization options during the setup process, though it’s already impressively streamlined. Finally, I dream of a return to 3D displays like the LG Optimus 3D’s—though that’s a wish for the industry, not a flaw in this phone. Verdict: The Ultimate Smartphone for Years to Come The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the undisputed king of smartphones, blending unparalleled performance, a breathtaking display, lightning-fast charging, and rock-solid durability. It’s a far cry from the disappointing S21 FE and a worthy successor to the S8 Plus and S9 Plus, which won me over to Samsung. Having journeyed through the Nokia 3310’s rugged simplicity, the LG Optimus 3D’s bold innovation, and the fragile missteps of flip and slide phones, I can say the S24 Ultra is the best phone I’ve ever owned. Its speed and polish make it hard to justify future upgrades—except for battery advancements, which I believe the industry knows is the next frontier. For now, this phone is all anyone could need for the foreseeable future. I’m 100% thrilled with this upgrade, and it’s the pinnacle of my smartphone journey. Pros: Unmatched performance with 12GB RAM and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Stunning 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 2600-nit brightness Lightning-fast 45W charging Exceptional build quality with titanium frame and Gorilla Armor 2 Versatile 200MP quad-camera system Seven years of software updates Full-size, non-folding design for superior durability Best-in-class performance that makes future upgrades (except battery) hard to justify Cons: Battery life is good but not exceptional; future advancements are the key upgrade driver More setup customization options would be welcome No 3D display (a personal wish for the industry) For anyone seeking the ultimate smartphone experience, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the absolute best-in-class choice. It’s a phenomenal device that sets the bar so high, only battery breakthroughs will likely tempt me to upgrade in the future.

An awesome phone that is lasting well. It looks amazing, sleek but sturdy and has great functions including camera. I do love Samsung but this is the best phone yet, better than the s25 in my opinion.

Very good device! 👍👍👍

If you're feeling skeptical about purchasing this phone, I completely understand—I had my doubts too. With mixed reviews, claims of fake models, and the fact that it’s £450 cheaper than buying directly from Samsung, it's natural to hesitate. The company selling it has also received some negative feedback online and on Amazon, with claims of scams and concerns about its legitimacy. However, I can now confidently say that this is a genuine Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. It features Samsung’s advanced Galaxy AI, delivering smooth performance and optimized battery life, which you’ll only find in authentic models. The camera quality is exceptional, with the 200MP sensor producing stunning, detailed images and incredible zoom capabilities that prove this is the real deal. The built-in S Pen works perfectly, adding the precise, premium experience that knockoff models simply can't replicate. The pictures I have toom so far are immaculate, a huge upgrade from my OnePlus 10 Pro. The phone comes with Android 14 and Samsung’s One UI 6.0, and when you tap the software version multiple times in settings, you’ll see the Android 14 “stars” logo—a clear indicator of its authenticity. Although the phone might be imported from the EU, it operates exactly like a UK model with no issues connecting to UK networks or carriers. The icing on the cake was the next-day delivery, which was handled by Royal Mail and arrived before 1 PM—a great touch from the seller. So if you’re hesitant, don’t be. This is a genuine Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra at an unbeatable price, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase!

The price is good, but just pray you don't run into any issues with the phone, because getting in touch with them is a disaster. No one answers you, and if they do, it’s only after a long time and a lot of hassle. So, keep this in mind if you buy here; knowing what I know now—after all the trouble I had when the phone I bought from them started acting up after just two months—I would have thought twice about buying from this company.

Good phone, sound , display and functionality all excellent just about pocket size , I had to buy an updated Samsung charger to get fast charging . 2 issues ..sharp corners not ideal in pocket..you can't stop it making emergency calls from accidental 'on "button presses best you can do is set the number to non emergency one .

Excellent

I was very hesitant to buy, as the price was too good to be true, but I am pleased to say this Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra is not fake. Although not UK version, which makes no difference in how the phone operates anyway, I run few apps and I checked all signs to verify if its legitimate. And it is. My phone arrived securely packaged and super fast the next day delivery with no extra charge. I cannot recommend enough, specially if you are like me, and cannot believe the deal is true. The seller I bought from is called Direct Communications.

Abituato all'ecosistema Samsung e proveniente dal S22 Ultra, brickato per aggiornamento andato male, il Galaxy S24 Ultra, è per me un degno successore e un telefono completo per essere strumento ideale per ottenere la massima potenza per il lavoro e la fotografia. La prima cosa che si nota, venendo da un modello precedente, è l'abbandono del dispaly estremamente curvo: scelta apprezzata con l'utilizzo con la S-Pen fino ai bordi senza che la punta scivoli via! - Galaxy AI: funzioni di intelligenza artificiali oggi scontate in ogni dispositivo. In Samsing si può utilizzare per la funzione "Cerchia e Cerca", trasformare i testi nelle foto in caratteri da poter modificare, traduzione live delle chiamate e delle conversazioni in tempo reale, ecc; - Display: i colori sono vibranti, ma comunque dal tono naturale, è visibile bene anche sotto la luce, aspetto che oggi non possiamo non dare per scontato e il refresh rate adattivo, ideale per risparmiare batteria, quando non è necessaria la potenza massima; - Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: un mostro di potenza in piccolo formato. Il telefono tende difficilmente a scaldare (a meno di non utilizzarlo sotto il sole diretto) e la reattività del sistema è veramente ottima, anche con lavori pesanti come i montaggi video; - Fotocamera da 200MP: condividendo l'esperienza social del mio telefono con la creazione di contenuti con attrezzature professionali, non posso comparare la qualità. Le foto sono comunque molto dettagliate nonostante la dimensione del sensore molto più piccola rispetto a quella di una fotocamera full frame e utilizzato con le giuste impostazioni (scatti con lunghe esposizioni su cavalletto, riesce a regalare ottimi risultati con poco rumore); - Batteria: la pecca di questi dispositivi è sempre quella di volere una durata infinita, ma non nego che con un utilizzo leggero, riesco ad avere ancora un buon 40% di batteria residua, dopo 2 ore di accensione schermo. Se ovviamente si utilizza con app molto prestanti, ovviamente il telefono tenderà a dare il massimo; - S-Pen: Non è solo per scrivere, può essere utilizzata come telecomando remoto per scattare le foto di gruppo o per selezionare testo o scontornare foto con precisione; - Audio e Ricezione: le casse stereo sono davvero potenti e bilanciate, aspetto che più amo di questi nuovi dispositivi e la ricezione del segnale wifi è ottima. La ricezione della connessione dati invece varia in base all'operatore e alla zona, ma trovo che sia comunque ottima anche in zone critiche;

Le stockage de 1TB est vendeur pour moi ayant atteint la limite de stockage sur des modèles plus anciens. Le S pen est pratique. J'apprécie également l'apport de l'IA.
