Carl Hiaasen can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned, I've read everything he's written and anyone who loves Warren Zevon is all right in my book.

Our 11 year old son loves this author’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. He’s read it twice (so far!)

If you're expecting Hiaasen's usual riotous action and adult language you'll not find it here. The jacket blurb is misleading on two counts: it does not mention that this is a kids' (YA) book so reads like a sanitised version of what I hoped it would be which leads leads me neatly to the second point which is that the sterling endorsements of a number of well known authors/publications are wildly over the top in their praise of a pretty simple story.

love carl hiaasen this is as good as his adult books

Loved it, love his writing, makes me laugh. Can imagine the whole thing unwinding as I have spent time in the areas he writes about.
