How long can you leave these in water and will they shrink if left in water over 10 hours?

They don't shrink when left in water until the water begins to evaporate. So however long it'll take the container of water to evaporate is how long it will take them to shrink. Those at the top in the container will shrink first because that would be the water to evaporate first.

Can I use these to make the illusion of floating balls? Or will they just look like beads? Do they "disappear" ?
