Go for Gold!
This is a wonderful write! I chose this as my first next level pen, also my first Sailor and first gold nib. I have a small handful of other fountain pens with steel nibs including a Lamy Joy, Kaweco Sport Classic, TWISBI Eco, and Noodler's Konrad. By comparison to those, this most certainly is the smoothest, significantly, so I find myself assured that I have made a good purchase in investing in a 14k gold nib (although my Kaweco is also an excellent writer even with an extra fine nib, however there is more feedback than the Sailor). I also ordered a converter which hasn't arrived yet and got started on the included cartridge (2 black ones come with the pen, no converter). There were no hard starts straight out of the box. There is also very little pressure needed and the flow is consistent with some line variation with up to double the stroke width if desired. The medium fine nib on the Sailor is ever so slightly stronger than my Kaweco Sport Classic extra fine (note to those who aren't familiar with Kaweco, although my photo shows a gold colored nib, it is actually plated steel). This is a bit exaggerated in my comparison photo with the Kaweco using a much lighter ink. Additionally you can see that there is a little more tension in my writing with the Kaweco. I will say though that I look forward to trying out a fine or extra fine gold nib from Sailor (or other Japanese brand) as I would have preferred either of those options to the medium fine. But, I have no complaints because this writes like liquid satin and is still relatively fine. I'm impressed with this pen which will now become my every-day-carry. The Pro Gear Slim is indeed smaller than an average full-sized pen, but it is not a pocket pen. My Kaweco is considered a pocket size but extends nicely when posted. By comparison, the Pro Gear Slim is significantly larger but still perfectly balanced in my small hands. This comes in the white box as pictured, not a blue box like most Sailor pens come in as I have seen on unboxing video reviews. There are retailers who sell this in the blue box with a converter but at a higher price than available here. I have seen this same configuration (white box, no converter) available from other very reputable retailers, so I am assured of its authenticity. Overall, I'm very pleased with my upgrade! The Sailor Pro Gear Slim is remarkable and the Meigetsu (autumn harvest moon) is beautiful to look at. I really love the blunt cigar shape and the contrasting black ends. The little bit of gold shimmer in the body coordinates so well with the with the 24k gold plated accents, and the gold logo inset into the black finial is the perfect elegant touch. I highly recommend this pen to anyone who enjoys European fine or extra fine nibs, or to anyone who desires a consistently smooth, fatigue-free writing experience for pages at a time.

Beautiful new Sailor
As stated by others, nib is medium-fine. I think the listing says medium. Medium fine is my favorite size for a Sailor ProGear Slim. So that was no issue for me. Does not include a converter like the ones I’ve bought in the states, but again I was aware going in. Put one of the included cartridges in when it got here. Writes wonderfully. That signature Sailor feedback. Beautiful MF lines. Pen itself is even more pretty in person. The microliter really makes the pen seem special. Originally I wasn’t sure it matched my aesthetic, but now that I have it I can confirm it’s lovely. Scratched my new Sailor itch on a budget. Great buy for Sailor fabs new and old.

Beautiful pen, kind of scratchy
This is my first sailor. I was expecting the medium fine nib but this felt more like a fine. I also thought sailors were supposed to have a bouncy feel. This definitely did not. I bought the white and green pens and both were scratchy. I was able to get my green one polished and tuned a tiny bit by a generous vendor at the pen show and it writes smoother now. The width is more like a twsbi fine.

Good gold nib fountain pen.
The gold nib goodness. If you want to get a gold nib pen. This is a good starting point.

My first Sailor pro gear slim—great pen!
This Sailor PGS has gorgeous shimmery ivory color contrasting with the black ends on the pen, and gold accents. The 14k nib is the same size and feel of the Sailor 1911S model. Pleasant feedback on paper if you enjoy the Sailor nibs. The body of the pen is slightly shorter than the 1911S. I write with the cap posted on both models and Sailor PGS is very comfortable in my opinion.

careless listing, writes dry, missing converter
Caveat emptor, the listing has several errors: --The gold-shimmer ivory with black end finials is the MEIGETSU 名月 (or Autumn/Harvest Moon in English) pen, from the Shikiori (Four Seasons) series in the Pro Gear Slim model. --The dark metallic green is the MANYO 万葉 (or Summer/Abundant Leaves), also from Four Seasons. --These pens only come in the "Medium-Fine" nib, not the Medium. --No converter but there are 2 black cartridges. I got the ivory/Autumn Moon. This is my first Slim model to own but I'm familiar with Sailor nibs (and have a regular Pro Gear, with the 21K nib) - and this writes unpleasantly dry, no matter the ink. Slow, careful print with frequent pen lifts does better but it really cannot keep up with any fast, ligatured script. Will need to adjust the nib/feed. Maybe just luck of the gray market? Caveat emptor. Again. But if you're OK with all that, there is one good reason to get it on Amazon... much, much cheaper! For me, Pro Gears aren't really worth the markup in the US (180-395USD) but for $75? Sure. This one is quite pretty. Good luck!

Great pen, but know that it is a Medium-Fine nib
Shipping was very fast and pen was brand new in box. Description says it is a medium nib but from reading previous reviews I expected a medium-fine nib, which is what this is. Popped a sailor cartridge in and it writes really well out of the box. Has a bit less feedback than another Sailor PGS that I have. Converter is not included and will need to be purchased separately. Not that I'm complaining though, this is a great deal.

Beautiful pen, writes well
I purchased another Sailor fountain pen as a gift for my niece in another country who just passed her Anesthesiology board exams. My dear wife said it was a lovely gift, so I purchased this one from the same collection for my wife as well. She's Japanese so she knows the brand well (even if I haven't). This is a beautiful pen that writes smoothly. The nibs are slightly thinner than the European counterparts as other reviewers have noted, so I purchased the medium nib. This is not a heavy fountain pen but it was perfect for my wife's petite hands. The screw on cap may not be to everyone's liking, however it doesn't take much effort. The iridescent beauty of the pen makes up for whatever minimal dislikes one may have. If you want a lovely pen that stands out from all the darker-colored fountain pens then you will love this one.
