We use these with resistance bands to wrap around pull up bars and stationary bikes and such. So useful! They make a huge difference in the life of resistance bands. No more wearing out of bands. Definitely worth the investment to prolong the life of your resistance bands.

Does what it says it does and does it well. I've been using it to protect my resistance bands when anchoring around splintered wooden poles/to protect my shoes from the resistance bands etc and it does the job great. Still going strong after half a year.

I love the X-Bar Strength Training System except for one thing: putting the Variable Resistance Bands over my shoulders fir the CHEST PRESS and the TRICEPS PRESS. Many people have problems with this just greeting the bands in place let alone keeping them from slipping or pulling on your skin or shirt uncomfortably while using them. The Serious Steel Band Guard cost only $15 and make this so easy to do that it is no longer a problem getting the bands in place or using them. I almost bought a longer Olympic Bar from Jaquish Biomedical to solve this problem for $270 which Dr. Jaquish makes but does not recommend but X-Bar users mentioned several Gerry rigged ways to solve this problem with hair scrunches and towels with Velcro to hold them over the bands that I decided to look on Amazon for a solution under “Band Guards” and found two on the Serious Steel offerings in a small or large size. You can use the small size for the Wide Grey and Black Bands and the large size for the Elite Orange Band. Ironically these Band Guards could cause potential injury when used as they were designed for use with the Serious Steel System but are perfect and safe for the X-3 Bar System. I would hope that at some future time Dr. Jaquish would make similar bands for the X-3 Bar but until he does these Band Guards are the perfect solution for those of us who feel that as great as the X-3 Bar system is this minor and inexpensive solution to a common problem is Perfect!

I got the X3 system with the 41 inches band. I use this to make the band easy on my back for chest exercises. It also has the added benefit of shortening the long band and increase tension in the band during workouts. I do not step on it as I have a plate but use this to stop my back from chaffing as the band rubs against my skin.
