This is a good cinnamon, or at the very least the best you are gonna find online, along with many other cinnamon brands. Yes it does have a taste and smell, shocker I know, yes it is similar to Cassia, well no duh it is. It is less abrasive and more pleasant, little more spicy, pretty sure cassia cinnamon has added sugar where as Ceylon has natural sugar from the bark. (Meaning it is less sweet overall however being better in flavor). The flavor is greatly enhanced from sugar, which is why it's common in baking and sweet coffee drinks. As for the 1 star reviews, quite frankly they seem over-emotional and a little bit delusional. I bought this cinnamon out of sheer curiosity because it seems to be a controversial item (somehow) and as I suspected the angry people way over-exaggerated some of the negatives. To put it in perspective the difference between Cassia and Ceylon, is very akin to French Vanilla and Vanilla Bean; Vanilla Bean is much more pleasant tasting while also having a much more diverse taste profile, where as French is just sugar syrup with the essence of vanilla or it as a back-round flavor. I do recommend Ceylon over Cassia just from taste alone, you can do much more with it and it can also be used in savory dishes as well via salt also enhancing the natural flavor's. Cassia is a fine alternative as long as you don't overuse it chronically. Surprisingly a lot of Cassia seems to be not far off from the price of Ceylon, especially the "organic" Cassia lol, so if you use cinnamon every day, like EVERY day than just buy Ceylon, otherwise stick to Cassia.

The aroma and flavor of this cinnamon is amazing. I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but I am glad I ordered anyway. This cinnamon is perfection. The aroma is mild and sweet as it should be, not a strong assault on you senses. The taste is real cinnamon, pungent but not aggressive, with a very slight sweet aftertaste. This is true cinnamon the way it is supposed to taste, not the woody, harsh cinnamon that most people have used their entire lives. An added plus is that it is ground so fine that it actually dissolves in hot liquid. No more clumps floating on top or grit at the bottom of the cup. It completely disappears. I am pleased that the flavor remains when baked in waffles and pancakes. I have only added it to coffee, tea, in pancakes and waffles, and in a butter spread on toast. I’m looking forward to baking with it. The only negative is the very small lip on the resealable package. It stays sealed but requires care. I’ll be putting it in an airtight container.

Until recently, I had no knowledge of "good" or "bad" cinnamon. I always bought that store brand cinnamon until I asked myself, "how much is too much, and could it hurt me?" Apparently, yes, it can be toxic if we eat too much cassia cinnamon because of the amount of coumarin in it; according to the American Chemical Society, cassia cinnamon contains 63 times more coumarin than ceylon cinnamon. But if you think ALL ceylon cinnamon is the same, they are not! I researched where, how, reading reviews, and found this brand. I will never try a different cinnamon again, this is the one! I promise, the smell, taste, texture, everything, even the color is beautiful. It is not spicy, but I read that true cinnamon isn't. I love spicy, and I thought I wouldn't like it after reading it had a subtle scent and flavor, but I'm not disappointed. And as far as price goes, it is not expensive at all. Just to be clear, I bought Ceylonflavors FRESH AND PURE 100% ORGANIC CEYLON CINNAMON POWDER Net. Wt. 3.5 oz (100g).

The people who write the negative reviews obviously don't have a clue what this is, Ceylon cinnamon is not your grocery store type cinnamon which is Cassia. This cinnamon has health uses that are numerous, I use it for blood sugar control and anytime I have stomach issues like mild food poisoning. With that said this Ceylon is the highest quality I have purchased to date! And I've bought a lot! It's fresh with a 2 year expiration date, very aromatic and tastes great, its exactly what the seller says it is and what I expect from Ceylon cinnamon. Do your own research and you will discover for yourself how fabulous Ceylon cinnamon is.

This cinnamon was exactly as promised and a great value for my money. It doesn’t have a super strong taste, is organic and perfect for supplemental use. I wouldn’t recommend it for flavoring, it is very mild. I Love this product.

This is so delish & flavorful! I am a happy camper. I bought this as I read cinnamon can help to lower cholesterol if you use 1/2 t. a day. I added this to my coffee with HWC & chocolate collagen then whipped it with a mini whipper. OMGoodness! This is a treat. NOTE: I used 1/4 t. & will use another 1/4 later on chicken! Sounds crazy but there is a Keto recipe I found for chicken, cinnamon & dried mint. I will buy this cinnamon again. I was buying it from Costco but this has so much more flavor. I will recommend this. In fact, buy it, you’ll like it! (Mikie… try it). lol. Enjoy!!

There are different types of cinnamon and I'd previously used some from a supermarket selling these kind of spices which while cheap didn't really have much of a taste. This is much better and Ceylon is recommended as being the one to buy. It tastes nice and I bought a little sprinkler like you see in coffee shops to add it to coffee and breakfast cereal.

This is far too subtle in flavour and only a hint that it's actually cinanamon. Prefer a more robust flavour and colour.
