This book is, in a word: excellent. It is beautifully written, the explanations are clear and the examples are extremely helpful. This book is great for beginners learning scientific writing for the first time or even those who have already gone through a class on the subject. Writing is a process that involves a lot of revision and open-mindedness and this book was, for me, a constant source of new ideas on how to write better; every time I read it I find something new, which is shocking considering the book's small size. I used this book as an undergraduate and it rarely left my backpack. If you are a student of chemistry or biochemistry I fully recommend it.

I love books, so spending for new writing guide is cool with me. My chem 1B class suggests this book. The labs and writing for science classes are important to get full credit on labs and such. Since I have decided to major in Biochem I think this book will prove well worth the cost.

This book is incredible! It was very clear-cut, simple to read-the follow was smooth. Clear explanations of what a chemist writing should and should not do for the best possible piece. I highly recommend this writing guide for great steps in revisions until the optimal literary piece is ready for publication! Both Dr. Tyson and Dr. Davis have done a grand job in helping undergraduates or anyone interested reach his/her highest degree of success!

This is an an excellent resource in the class and forever after. It has everything you need to know while you're in college and still writing reports, as well as everything you need after and are writing job-related texts. I, a graduate, still actively use it to remind me how to write cover letters, resumes, etc. Of all the the textbooks I still own from college this is by and far the most useful I still own.

I found this book at the library, and have been using this book for a semester. This book is awesome: has great examples and explain things succinctly and precisely. For those taking a college level chemistry lab, this book is a must!!
