Since this is sweeter than sugar how do you use it for baking recipes?

I used it as it was specifically called for in a chocolate fudge cake. The substitute for it was brown sugar but then you wouldn't get the caramel flavour

Is this product non gmo and organic?

The package states it is NON GMO and nothing about organic.
