Rodent - Semi-Enclosed Exercise Wodent Wheel 'Wobust' 12" Blue

Despite my horrible experience with Small Joys, and that my rats won't use this or any wheel, I'm still giving the product itself a good review because the PRODUCT deserves a good review. This is a very well made, safe wheel. It is easy to put together and disassemble for cleaning. It doesn't make a lot of noise, hardly any at all. I spun it myself to see how much noise it would make if my rats used it. The stand of this wheel is heavy and made in such a way that it will not easily be overturned. I believe this wheel would get many, many uses and definitely worth spending more money to get it. It's not designed to be mounted to the cage. With a bit of creativity, it can be done though. I mounted mine to the side and from the top of the cage using zip ties. This is a VERY LARGE wheel. If you need a large wheel for your pet, hopefully you also have a large cage. It would not fit into my old cage. Even in a Double Critter Nation, it takes up a significant amount of space. But if your animals will use it, it's definitely worth putting inside the cage. For a small pet that will actually use it, this is a very good choice. ***************************************************SELLER ALERT********************************************* If you buy the Wodent Wheel, just DON'T buy it from Small Joys. Mine was sold as new, but was in fact used and damaged. I made a note of the used condition in my seller review. Small Joys didn't respond to my seller review for 3 weeks. When she did, she argued with me about the condition of the wheel, giving many contradictory reasons explaining that it couldn't possibly be used. It was clearly used by a small pet. It also had a number a scratches obviously NOT made by an animal on the front and back surfaces of the wheel. The scratches look like ones resulting from careless handling, like bumping it hard against something or having heavy items laying on top of the wheel. It was dirty and had numerous finger prints on every surface. Although it was actually used, the price was very low would have been fair for what I got. I made it very clear to her that I wasn't looking for any compensation of any sort. I am keeping it because one day, my rats may decide that they want to use it, or a future might like it. Small Joys has terrible customer service and apparently believes that she is incapable of making mistakes. If I could change my review of Small Joys, I would give 1 star instead of 3.

Follow up: 10/16 this wheel in two months has been completely chewed up :( the wheel is now broken. Sad sad sad bc they LOVED it. I got this larger size for my chinchillas this week. Shipping was slow. But it eventually came in 11 days. I am just used to amazon prime i guess. This is a very affordable wheel (compared to metal saucers out there that are outrageously priced). This is also quite a safe exercise wheel for chinchillas. Chinnies are very fragile and cannot have mesh wheels where their little feet get caught. It is a nice sturdy wheel solidly built etc.. My one chinnie, (the more adventurous one) took to it the very day i got it and hasn't stopped running on it. She goes VERY FAST on it. My other chinchilla is a bit more reserved and I haven't seen him get on it yet. But he takes time to get used to new items in the cage. This wheel is relatively quiet. Except you hear their little turds clicking about in it as it turns ;-)...and it gets the whole cage shaking when she's going really fast. I am not giving it a full 5 stars because of the following reasons: 1. The wheel does not attach to the cage. It stands freely on a stand and while running on it, the entire wheel will move across the tray in your cage. It moves several inches. I have since placed their heavy little "chinchiller" granite slab right in front of the metal stand, and it hasn't shifted since. However when chinchillas get going at full speeds on this thing...and I mean THEY ARE FAST! The whole cage gets a rocking and its kinda funny. You may want to take it out if your cage is in your bedroom and you need to sleep. 2. the majority of this wheel is plastic...which is OK, but my chinnies have already nibbled on the plastic around the hole openings. I wish there was a reinforced harder surface around the holes that were chew resistant. But I don't foresee that being a HUGE problem, it just starts to look kinda shabby after awhile.

the rats love it but damm is it noisy.. specially at night when they are most active.
