No. If doing cross stitch use embroidery threads. This wool is not thick but thicker than threads so would make cross stitch look bulky.

Can I use this to make rugs?

I guess you could yes, they are small balls I use them for amigurumi, they're only 20 gram balls, hope that helps :)

are these long enough to make granny squares?
