A great value for a dual bank input switchable PDU
I recently bought the smaller unit, the "Web Power Switch v.7" (LPC7) and I have been very happy with it. I read all of the reviews and while some were negative the overall pattern that I saw was that Digital Loggers cares about their products and they are always improving them. I've been happy enough with the unit that I decided to buy the bigger, dual input, rack mount unit, the "Ethernet Power Controller 5 - Datacenter PDU" (EPCR5), which is available at the lowest price here with Prime. The device works well and I am generally happy with it so far. I don't publicly surface the web UI (I only VPN in for that kind of thing) but I expect that it is secure and has no issues. HTTP, HTTPS, and SSH are supported with definable ports. The only issues that I have encountered so far have to deal with the wireless interface, which is not required in my application - and I don't yet know where the issue lies. The issue could be on my end and in the end it really isn't that important. My observations of the wirelessThe wireless interface is optionally enabled via a checkbox and settings in the web UI. The wireless connection (as a client) appears to be quite sensitive, only working at times (antenna extended upward). With AutoSelect set for the channel, I could not get 5ghz to work, only 2.4ghz, but I don't know where the real issue lies (and this really isn't important). I will try explicitly setting the channel/band and see what happens (although 2.4ghz is fine for a web UI). The same PHY/MAC appears to be shared between the wired and wireless interfaces, which can be confusing if DHCP were turned on for both interfaces (would wired take priority over wireless?, etc.). I have had both interfaces up at the same time via static IP and they worked fine (meaning the web UI worked fine on both IPs, .5 and .6 in my case). I then pulled out the RJ45 (.5) and the wireless (.6) then stopped working. I then reboot the device (not wired) and the wireless interface (.6) doesn't come up (not even an ICMP/ping response). Plug the RJ45 back in, and the wired (.5) and wireless (.6) interfaces are both working again. Upon boot up the LCD only ever shows the wired IP (.5), and that is fine, just be aware of that. I will eventually track the wireless issue down - luckily the wireless feature is not that important to most (a $10-$20 WiFi bridge could be used if necessary). The wireless can also be set into an AP mode which some might find useful if they don't want the device wired up. A mobile phone could be used (locally) to attach to the AP. I have read that the web UI works fine on small mobile screens, and that 3rd party IOS and Android apps exist - I have not tried this.I am happy with the unit so far and at this price (for dual input banks) it seems to be the best value around.I will update my review if I discover anything notable.

Great Product back customer service
They make great products but bad software, it just beaked my box now they don't wont to make it right, 5 year warranty no try 30 days, I would not buy this unless you have 2 1 for use and 1 for backup since.

Good Investment
This really helps for a situation like a home lab when you want to work on your devices remotely and be able to control the power and monitor consumption. The built-in energy and environment monitoring capabilities of the device are great, and management is easy. One nit-pick: sometimes the wireless radio (only 2.4Ghz compatible) goes down and the device needs a hard physical reset (rebooting the device). I haven't figured out why, but it isn't an issue if you have a connection to the ethernet port via SSH.All in all, a good investment for anyone looking for remote power.

Great EPC with one big caveat
The dual power banks so you can use separate power source has one glaring flaw: both ports for switch 1-4 belong to one bank and both ports from 5-8 belong to another. If you have redundant power supply in your server and the power source for either bank dies, then your server loses power. It would have made more sense to put all upper outlets under bank A and all lower outlets under bank B, so in case a power source for either bank dies, your server only loses power on one of its power supply.

It works well.
It is really good but some time its software get broke and stop working. in this case the whole reboot is the only solution (remove all source of power) but it is really good.:

THE SWITCHED PORTS ARE IN PAIRS
Works well but you should know this piece of information that is missing from the manual and the website. The only place I found this was in a random youtube video.THE SWITCHED PORTS ARE IN PAIRS. This means you don't have 16 ports that you can turn off and on. You have 8 switches. Each switch controls a pair of ports. So if I turn off switch 1, both Port1s turn off.
