Work, fix the check engine light. I would highly recommend getting some Free All.

Install with confidence
Of course my 2002 Honda Civic ended up with the dreaded evap code. Luckily this part was super easy to find and install. Removing the old one was a challenge since the old part was basically rusted in place. Be ready to strip out the old screws and use some epoxy where they used to screw in place (I used new screws since the old ones pulled out the metal where they used to screw in). Be careful that you don't break the plastic on the original charcoal canister or you will be out another $300 to replace that as well.

It is genuine indeed.
This product was tested and found not wanting because it passed the expectation of being genuine. The bench test of applying 12V power and holding vacuum, 17 Hg. Mityvac. was met.

Genuine Honda part
Worked perfect. Stopped the P1457 code. Genuine Honda part. I don't trust Dorman...

Good part but really slow shipping.
Seems to have fixed the problem. It was a genuine Honda part. But it took over 10 days to get to me. With a check engine light on that feels like a LOOONNNGGG 10 days.

Add canister
When replacing this part keep in mind this is only the valve. Make sure you replace the canister to otherwise your check engine light will come back on.

Original Honda part, great service from supplier. Contrary to Amazon indicating this part would not fit a 2004 Acura EL, this did replaced the original part. The part label on the highly corroded original was the same as the replacement, and this has eliminated my P1457 EVAP canister leakage error code.

Had a check engine light on my son's car. After doing some research decided this was most likely the part needed to be replaced...it's a genuine Honda part...fit as expected...No check engine light anymore!!!
