Powerblanket MD0304 Heated Concrete Blanket - 3' x 4' Heated Dimensions - 4' x 5' Finished Dimensions

I paired this blanket with an Inkbird controller so I could set and remotely monitor the temperature under the blanket. Had a couple of snows which didn't melt despite the blanket running at 60 degrees F, suggesting that the insulation over the heating coils is quite effective. Even at 10 degrees the blanket was switched on and off by the controller, so there was still some reserve heating capacity since it wasn't running continually.

The fact that I could get my compost after very hard frosts made me so happy, that dirt can be expensive. Even thou the blanket was a little pricey, it can be used many times. I left it two days and nights and the third day I dug down 3.5 feet! Nice soft moist compost. Needed to plant many flower bulbs in hug pots for the winter. A major experiment for the winter in zone 3 in my garage.

I bought this at the tail end of the warm season. I was laying outdoor tile. The weather overnight and for the next few days was going to be below 40 degrees, which was the lower limit to the cure temperature for the grout I was using. I put this on for a few days. It worked very well. It's heavy enough not to get blown away by a normal wind.I checked the substrate temperature during the time it was there and it was pretty close to the spec'd 100 degrees. Well made and durable.

I like it this worked well where I needed it most on my roof to help melt a huge ice dam saving me $$$ in roof damage this winter. I moved it day to day from one spot to another the only problem is figuring out how to anchor it. I used string and rubber coated 3 lb dumbbell hand weights. These acted as anchors tied to the ringlets on the top edges.
